As a Choral Collegium members are members of several choirs and hail from differing musical traditions including traditional western, chinese and hindustani.

Rehearsals of Bach Wachet Auf and songs begin at 8.15 pm on Friday 7th February 2025 at Hill Close Gardens. Yes there is plenty of time for tea and cake. We build to our summer performance on 28th June 2025 with the sinfonietta quartet with soloists and choral scholars. Thankyou donors!

You can see our 2025 choral year in the On Tour section. Our young members lead busy lives so we do not commit to our own three large scale choral works a year. When we do our own larger scale concerts with soloists and orchestra we meet with Accompaniest Adrian Moore.

Join our in person rehearsals to transform your musical vision into reality. We are an ensemble rehearsing and performing the classical repertoire and songs thanks to our generous donors. We make music for the love of it. We are always ready to sing your favourite piece or celebrate a loved ones life.

Members meet as a small group on Fridays for sectional rehearsals of the repertoire and songs at Hill Close Gardens.

Save the date!

28th June 2025 Collegium Warwick with guest conductor. Bach (Wachet Auf), Mozart (Laudate Dominum) Vivaldi and Haydn (7 Last words instrumental)

Summer Concert with the Beauchamp Sinfonietta quartet and Adrian Moore at Hill Close Gardens. The quartet will treat us to instrumental music including the Haydn 7 Last Words which was so well received in Summer 2024.

WKCS

WKCS perform Brahms on 29th March 2025 and Messiah on 16th December. WKCS rehearse on mondays.

FRIDAY FREE STUFF!

We have no concert in the easter term. Vocalists who can sight read (or would like to learn) a SATB score are very welcome to join us on friday evenings at Hill Close at no charge as no conductor or accompaniest is provided.

These evening sessions with section guidetracks are led by Peter Brealey who sings the tenor line for the choir in rehearsal. These small group sessions are also available online. Email chair@collegiumwarwick.com for a Zoom link.

We start 2025 with the Mozart Mass in C (Peters), Bach Wachet Auf, Vivaldi, Brahms and Alexanders Feast Choruses. Mozart Requiem later in the year and of course Messiah subject to donors and venue.

During the year we get to sing many shorter songs and practice these. Musescore PDF scores provided. Scores (Novello) can be hired from Warwick library and bought from Presto Leamington Spa.

PAID STUFF

Members meet and rehearse on mondays with accompaniest Adrian Moore when preparing for a concert. Members pay a subscription of £150 per year or £50 per term if joining part way through the year.

You can hear more from local soprano Eleanor Woods recently graduated from the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama here

We perform the Mozart Mass in C in the Peters edition. Experienced choral singers will be familiar with the rehearsal “car crash” where singers lose tempo due to the many versions of the marvellous Sanctus. Another one for Fridays! Hear it sung in the Peters edition by Matthew Curtis here.

We use the Choraline and Johnf rehearsal tracks.

Some members were members of the St Marys Warwick parish choir Collegium 1986-2024 which gave its last concert on 6th December 2024. The ensemble continues but with a different format and guest conductors.
